How does Park The Boat, Inc. process payments?
Park The Boat, Inc.’s payment system is designed to make transferring money between boaters and dock hosts as simple and reliable as possible. Here’s how it works:
- Boaters pay ParkTheBoat when they reserve a dock.
- ParkTheBoat releases the money to the dock host 24 hours after the boater arrives at the dock.
Using Park The Boat, Inc.’s payment system is required to make a reservation, and it helps ensure that both parties are protected under our Terms and Conditions, cancellation policies, and Refund Policy.
ParkTheBoat, Inc. automatically includes service fees in each transaction and some government-required taxes where applicable.
How do I make payment for renting a dock?
Payments can be made with a major credit/debit card. Payments are processed through the PayPal payments system; however, you are not required to have a PayPal account to use your credit card.
What methods of payment does Park The Boat, Inc. accept?
Payment options may include:
- Major credit cards and pre-paid credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover)
- Many debit cards that can be processed as credit
- Google Wallet for US Android App only
- Apple Pay for iOS App only
We support several payment methods, which depend on what country your payment account is located in.
You'll see which payment methods are available to you on the checkout page before you submit a reservation request. After you select your country, all of your payment details will be shown.
Offline or cash payments are a violation of our Terms of Service and can result in removal from Park The Boat. We prohibit off-site payments because paying outside of Park The Boat makes it harder for us to protect your information and puts you at a greater risk of fraud and other security issues.
When do I pay for a reservation?
Long term reservations
If you book a reservation for 28 nights or more, you’ll be charged the first month down payment when the reservation is confirmed. Then, the rest of the nights will be charged on a monthly basis.
If your listing requires a security deposit, you won’t be charged unless the host files a successful claim within 48 hours of your checkout.
Your payment information is collected when you submit a reservation request. Once the host accepts your request, or if you book a reservation with Instant Book, your payment method will be charged for the entire amount at that time.
Whether the reservation is two days or two months away, we hold the payment until 24 hours after check-in before giving it to the host. This hold gives both parties time to make sure that everything is as expected.
How am I paid for my dock rental?
All payments are securely processed through PayPal and released to dock hosts within 24 hours of rental completion. We can send money to anyone with an email address or mobile phone number and it will go to your PayPal account. If you don’t have an account, you can create one in seconds, for free. How do I get my PayPal ID?
You can sign up for a regular PayPal account here. A PayPal ID used to be your email ID only, but with respect to recent developments, you may create a custom Get your very own PayPal.Me link ID which can be accessed at: Get your very own PayPal.Me link once you log into your PayPal account successfully. When you register an ID, you can then give your ID to your client for faster payment. It will look like this but with your ID: PayPal.Me/<yourID>
